Invisiboy

Well, let me tell you dudes
About a boy I once knew
He was in my class in sixth grade,
Then in eighth grade, too
And he sat at the back of the room,
Never said a word
We made fun, and I'm not proud
He wasn't dumb, he didn't care,
Although he figured it out
Uh-huh..
One day he yelled, "I've got it!"
In the middle of Science class
He ran out holding something large and silver
―It certainly wasn't a hallway pass!
The teacher asked me
What he was hiding in his hands, and I told her
He'd been fiddling around with some kind of
Metallic controller
That day, he never came back after he left,
But the door started to open and shut all by itself
Uh-huh...
A pencil behind his ear
Ice-blue eyes betraying no fear
Try as they might, bullies couldn't
Make him shed a tear
In fact, he got some sick satisfaction
From the laughter and the jeers
I laughed, too, and if I could take it
All back now, I would
Why don't I have the courage
To be who I should?
I wish that I could have been someone like him.
At one point, he started getting ripped
Oh... Man, what a trip!
And once he could bench-press six hundred fifty pounds,
Nobody was gonna ever, ever make fun of him
Or push him around
Invisiboy...
Now you'll never be destroyed!
He started to fight crime
It was just a matter of time
Got himself a huge following
All the people said that
Boy was a king, and I guess he was
And we all say, "At least I was cool"
And we all say, "At least I had
Friends in school"
But sometimes I wish that I could have been
Someone like him
Yes, sometimes I wish that I could have been
Someone like him, someone like...
Invisiboy, Invisiboy
Invisiboy, Invisiboy
Invisiboy, Invisiboy
Invisiboy, Invisiboy
Yes, he's gonna keep on fighting
And no, he'll never be destroyed
Yes, he's gonna keep on fighting
And no, he'll never be destroyed!

Son Without a Name
04:20
|
|||
In the House of Grandelbaum
Is one who does not belong
One who lives in silence and shame
For the King had him condemned
―He is not like them, so they stole
His voice, and forgot his name.
Yeah, they all cursed him
Oh, they turned him
Into a boy without a name...
In the house of Grandelbaum
Everyone must play along
With the King's horrible games
Oh, you know you must obey
Yes, there's a price you've got to pay
Even for the things you think and do not say
And it's true, can't you see?
No one can set him free
And ah, he can hear every word
Things that mustn't be heard
Now he's gotta learn...
To fight him!
Son without a name, yeah
Son without a name, all right
Son without a name, can you beat them
Son without a name, will you fight?
Do your shadows stay away?
Or do they come out to play?
Can you sense them?
Do you try to forget them?
Some things you cannot leave behind
They shall remain inside your mind
Though you may try hard,
You won't get very far
―There they are
I've seen his face before
I've heard his voice before
I've tasted his blood before
And here I am, once more
Weakness begets darkness,
As the night begets the stars
Evil won't make you stronger
―It won't get you very far...
Son without a name, son without a name,
Son without a name, all right
Son without a name, yeah
You know the night had begun,
For the Chosen One
Was the son without a name
Son without a name,
You know you could die without the flame
Son without a name
He didn't want to play the games
There's a price to pay...
Son without a name
Son without a name

Night Without Day
01:25
|
|||
Dark cannot be without the Light
―It's always been this way
Wrong cannot exist without right,
Nor can Night without Day
Love has Hate, Joy has Sadness,
Strength Weakness, and Knowledge Ignorance
Elsewise naught would be but madness:
Death and screams and violence
Confidence has Insecurity
Behind Kindness trails Malice
Ugliness bears the blood of Beauty
―Who but He would destroy this balance?
Who but He would take our Sun away?
Who but He wants Dark without Light?
Who but He so scorns the Day,
He'd have it swallowed by the Night?
I shall tell all later, young man;
We haven't time to bother
But one thing you must understand:
This journey is your final chance to see your father.

Right vs. Wrong
03:15
|
|||
Once I was told of a magic place
In some very distant corner of space
In this place, I was told, there's a room for two
Where we can discuss matters and enjoy the view
Once I was told―and don't you forget it―
That someday our fates would become interconnected
Yes, these things I was told; you know I'd rather die
Than tell a lie
Once I was told I was the future master,
That I couldn't spend my teenage years just getting plastered
I had to train, and so train I did,
Avoiding girls and all the things my friends did
I'm bigger now, and all of the people,
They rely on my powers to ward off the evil
That lurks within this land, and so ward off I do,
Or at least, I do the best I can do
My God, it's a funny thing,
But what can I do?
Where are all their sunny days?
Are those days through?
Yes, always you help yourself
Won't you help me too?
Help me help those weaker than,
Or less than you
At a young age, through the park I was roamin'
When I accidentally stumbled 'pon an ancient omen
It told me many things about my life
Scared little thing, I took it all in strife
It told me that in order to overcome,
I had to pair up with a certain someone
Believe me, it's true; we're the chosen two
Kid, it's me and you
Once I was told we would save the world
Strike evil from the lives of every boy and girl
We will unite, use our powers to fight,
We will obliterate wrong using right
So take your destiny by the hand
I will guide you through and help you understand
Just what to do, and it won't take long
It's simply right versus wrong

Earthman Sam
05:10
|
|||
Mister Sam comes from a distant land
He is an Earthman
Earth has but one moon and Earth spins
Round her sun
Earthmen aren't taught the difference
Between what's right and wrong―hey!
We're taught with a song
Every day at dawn,
We stand and sing along
He's got a left hand
And a right hand
Hands he does things with,
Earthman Sam
And he wears circles of glass
Right over his eyes
What a strange guy,
Earthman Sam
Some don't like him,
For their hearts and their minds are closed
I sit back and listen to him
Tell me what he knows
Some say he's a lying fool
And whine that he breaks all our rules
I don't give a damn
About what anyone but he says,
Earthman Sam
He knows so much of alien trends and magic lands
He's got powers, like smell and taste
―Oh, isn't it grand?
He reads poetry and uses an electric stove
He plants pretty flowers and waters them so they'll grow
When I talk to my friends, I get sad
They make me so sad
TV and church and Government class
Were all designed to make me mad
But I can't say these thoughts out loud,
Or else I'll get zapped―ouch!
They use circuit control
It can knock you out cold
I've had enough of that
Earthmen are given free reign
To say whatever the heck they'd like
When my mother insulted our leader, Brain,
She was sentenced to death by spikes
I hate the Brain; if I stay I'll someday be killed
Sam said I could come with him
Back to Earth, and I will
So laugh at me all you'd like
I'm sick of Borg and Brain and spikes
I don't give a damn
About what anyone
But he does, Earthman Sam
You can all get up at dawn and sing your silly song
You can wear false smiles and pretend we all get along
You can hide in small corners and live your lives in fear
You can do whatever you'd like
―I'm not staying here
